Government forces on Friday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in several villages of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said a joint team of army and Special Operational Group (SoG) of Police today early morning arrived in the district and laid a siege to several villages including Yaroo, Sopernaghama, Hanjishat villages in Handwara area of the district.
The searches in the areas were going on, however, it was not immediately known whether the area was seized following the inputs regarding the militants or it was a routine check.
