Forces on Monday laid a siege to Sheikhpora village of Poshpora area in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Local sources told Kashmir Life that a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was jointly launched by Army, Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police in the locality Monday morning following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that heavy deployment of forces has been made in the area and door to door searchs are being conducted.
So far, no contact has been established with the suspected hiding militants.
The search operation was going on when this report was being filed.
