Government forces on Saturday afternoon launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in seven villages of Tral Town of Pulwama district.
Reports said that the operation was launched by the joint team of 42 Rashtriya Rifles and a Special operation group of Jammu and Kashmir police after receiving the inputs of the presence of militants in the area.
The operation was launched in eight villages, including Aripal, Handoora, Wagad, Darganaie Gund, Satura, Gadpora and Youngwani villages.
Sources said that heavy deployment of police and army was present in the area adding that all entry and exit points to and from the area have been sealed by the Government forces and a tight vigil is being kept on to ensure that nobody escapes the village.
