SRINAGAR: A massive forest fire broke out in the Bonibagh Cherwan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday evening, rapidly spreading across a vast stretch of dense woodland.
Local residents said that the blaze erupted in forest compartment 69-S, an area known for its thick vegetation, making firefighting efforts challenging.
An official overseeing the operation stated, “Efforts are underway to control the fire. Our teams are doing their best, and we have managed to prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.”
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as firefighting teams continue to battle the flames.
Further updates awaited. (KNO)
