Usman Majid, the former Minister, called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Wednesday.

The former Minister apprised the Lt Governor about various issues regarding public welfare, maintenance of peace and normalcy and overall development of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lt Governor urged the former Minister to continue his sustained efforts for promoting a peaceful environment and welfare of the people.

Meanwhile, a delegation of former MLCs, on Wednesday also called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu.

The delegation led by Ramesh Arora comprising of former MLCs- Charanjeet Singh Khalsa and  Ajay Bharti apprised the Lt Governor about various issues including execution and completion of works started under Constituency Development Fund (CDF), streamlining the health sector across J&K, establishment of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s Chair at the University of Jammu to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji and organizing seminars in this regard besides other important issues of public importance.

The Lt Governor interacted with the members of the delegation and assured them to review all the genuine issues projected by them for their early redressal. He urged the former MLCs to continue working for the advancement of the people’s welfare.
