SRINAGAR: The education and administrative fraternity is mourning the passing of A Subhan Lone, IPS, retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Managing Trustee of Foundation Trust, who breathed his last today, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service and visionary leadership. Unwell for some time, Lone passed away on March 1, 2025, on the eve of Ramzan.

Family sources said the mourning shall be observed at his Humhama Heights residence for three days, and there will be no congregational prayers (Chaharum).
A highly respected figure, Lone played a pivotal role in shaping the Foundation World School, ensuring quality education and holistic development for students. His contributions extended beyond academics, as he remained actively involved in community welfare and social upliftment. Under his guidance, Foundation World School flourished as a centre of excellence, nurturing young minds and fostering a culture of learning and discipline.
The school community expressed deep sorrow over the loss. In a condolence message, the Executive Head of Foundation World School stated, “His unwavering dedication and vision will continue to inspire us. May Allah grant his family the strength to bear this loss and bless him with the highest place in Jannah.”
Prominent figures from the education sector, former colleagues, and students have also extended their condolences, remembering him as a compassionate leader and an advocate of progressive education. His funeral prayers were attended by family, friends, and well-wishers, who paid their respects and prayed for his eternal peace. The Foundation World School has urged everyone to keep him in their prayers, honouring his contributions and cherishing his legacy.
