Former state assembly speaker Mubarak Gul Tuesday led protest demonstrations at Press Enclave here against Hindu Mahasabha National Working President Kamlesh Tiwari for making derogatory remarks about Islam and circulating pamphlets against Muslim community.
Gul along with other party activists assembled under the banner of “J&K Rural Development Society”, a social organization he heads as chairperson.
The protestors raised pro-Islam and anti-Tiwari slogans and urged authorities to punish Tiwari under strict provisions of the law.
“We strongly demand legal action against Tiwari and urge union government to play its role in stopping hate and communal disharmony across the country,” Gul told reporters here.
