Former MLA Beerwah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Dr Mohammad Shafi joined the National Conference at Nawa-e-Subha Complex in Srinagar on Thursday
Dr Shafi who hails from Budgam was the senior leader of PDP and had resigned from the party earlier on February 9, 2019, however, he has joined the National Conference in Srinagar, where NC vice president Omar Abdullah welcomed him in the party.
He had won the 2008 assembly elections on the PDP ticket but lost to Omar Abdullah in 2014 elections.
NC General secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provisional president Nasir Aslam Wani and other senior leaders were also present on the occasion.
