Former SSP Ashiq Bukhari Wednesday formally joined People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Bukhari, a well known police officer who retired recently as SSP Crime Branch finally joined politics.
According to a PDP statement party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today addressed a public rally at Handwara. “The public meeting was addressed by Bukhari as well,” the statement said.
Bukhari was Srinagar police chief during 2010 uprising. After Raja Aijaz, Bukhari is the second police officer who joined PDP this year.
