SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo informed the Legislative Assembly that Critical Care Ambulances (CCA) procured under the 108 Emergency Services with World Bank assistance have been distributed across health institutions strictly on the basis of assessed requirements and institutional priorities.
Replying to a calling attention motion moved by MLA Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri, the Minister said the allocation process was carried out after evaluating key parameters, including patient load, service demand, geographical coverage, and the availability of existing emergency response infrastructure in different health facilities.
She further informed the House that Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara currently has four ambulances, including one operating under the 108 emergency service.
The Minister added that, based on present assessment, there is no immediate requirement for an additional ambulance at SDH Bijbehara.
