Following the clashes between government forces and people that left many people injured in Qaimoh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, senior separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that pellets fired indiscriminately have injured many, by hitting vital organs and eyes.

“Govt forces went berserk in Qaimoh village of Kulgam, south Kashmir, fire pellets indiscriminately at protestors injuring many, hitting eyes and other vital organs!,” Mirwaiz tweeted.

On Tuesday evening, at least four persons sustained pellet injuries during clashes with government forces in Qaimoh town. A senior police official said that clashes erupt after a forces vehicle was pelted with stones, triggering clashes. Reports said that forces in retaliation fired pellets, resulting in injuries to at least four persons.

A medical official at Qaimoh hospital said that injured persons were soon rushed to a sub-district hospital Qaimoh, from where one injured person was shifted to Islamabad and another to Srinagar’s SMHS for the further treatment. However, the other two were treated at Qaimoh hospital.

Meanwhile, MLA Homeshali Bugh Kulgam, Abdul Majeed Larmi condemned the act and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured ones.
