Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday claimed to have arrested four militant associates in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that police along with security forces have arrested four militant associates during two separate search operations at Chandargeer and Sadhunara areas of Bandipora.

“Acting on a specific input Bandipora Police along with 13RR and 45BN CRPF have arrested a militant associate during a search operation in Chandargeer,” said the spokesman.

According to spokesman, he has been identified as Shafat Ahmad Dar resident of Chandargeer.

“Incriminating materials including a live grenade has been recovered from his possession,” said the spokesman.

“Similarly, during search operation in Sadhunara, Bandipora Police along with 13RR and 45BN CRPF have arrested three more militant associates identified as Mudasir Ahmad Khawaja, Abdul Qayoom Margo and Ishfaq Ahmad Dar all residents of Sadhunara,” he said.

“Incriminating materials including 02 live grenades, 01 AK magazine, 25 live rounds of AK-47 and 01 UBGL has been recovered from their possession,” he added.

“It is pertinent to mention here that all the four militant associates are actively involved in providing logistic support and shelter to active militants of proscribed outfit LeT,” he further added.

“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Hajin and further investigation has been initiated,” said police spokesman in a statement.
