SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four militant associates including a top associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit in Budgam district of central Kashmir.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on a credible input, Budgam police along with 2RR have arrested four militant associates identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Mudasir Ahmad Lone, Younis Waza all residents of Budran and Nazir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Poshkar Khag.

“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one pistol, grenade and a huge cache of ammunition were recovered from their possession,” said the spokesman.

“As per the police records, they were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to the active militants of LeT operating in the area besides other unlawful activities,” he said.

“Case FIR No. 82/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Magam and further investigation in the matter is in progress,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
