SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a module of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and arrested four associates of the militant outfit.

An official said that the grenade incident case was solved after Sopore Police along with 52RR and CRPF busts LeT module and arrested four associates of the militant outfit.

He said that on specific information regarding the presence of  LeT militants police along with 52RR and CRPF launched CASOs simultaneously at different locations at Muqam Pothka and Chanpora Athoora areas.

During the search operation, four LeT militant associates identified as Irfan Ahmed Mir son of Mohammad Maqbool Mir, Irfan Ahmed Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Qaiser Rehman Khan son of Abdul Rehman Khan all residents of Putkha and Suhail Ahmed Ganie son of Gulam Mohammad Ganie a resident of Chanpora Athoora.

While giving details, he said during interrogation all confessed that they hurled a grenade on Police Post Putkha on directions of LeT militants identified as Fayaz Ahmed War @Umar and FT @Usman.

“Moreover all are in touch with militants through different social media apps like WhatsApp Conion, Threema and Vipole,” he said.

“All four have been arrested in grenade attack case FIR No 48/2020 U/S 307, 7/27 IPC, 16 ULAP Act P/S Tarzoo by Sopore Police and further investigation into the case is going on,” said an official.
