Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested four persons for the offences of theft cases registered in Police Station Safapora Ganderbal.
A police spokesman said that Police Station Safapora received a written complaint from a person namely Bilal Ahmad Hazari, a resident of Gratabal Safapora wherein he stated that some unknown thieves have stolen his vehicle bearing registration No JK16-5652, which was parked near his residential house.
Accordingly, a case FIR No’s. 12/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered and an investigation was initiated in the matter.
During the course of the investigation, officers arrested one suspect namely Kaiser Ahmad Parray, son of Bazir Ahmad Parry, a resident of Asham Bandipora. When the officers spoke to him, they learnt about his involvement in the commission of a crime. Police also learnt about the involvement of other three persons identified as Riyaz Ahmad Parra, a resident of Bhat Mohalla Sumbal, Pervaiz Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Wakura Ganderbal, Suhail Ahmad Tantary resident of Wakura Ganderbal. The trio was subsequently arrested.
Officers have recovered stolen vehicles including Swift bearing registration No DL-3CBC-0368, Van bearing registration No JK-01E-1430, Alto bearing registration No JK-16-5652, Scooty bearing registration No JK-01S-9514. Six mobile phones and cash worth 15, 000 was also recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, a notorious drug peddler has been arrested by the police in Sopore and contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
Cops at a checkpoint established at Baghat Achabal Sopore arrested one drug peddler identified as Arif Hussain Lone, son of Abdul Hamid Lone, of Lorihama Rafiabad.
Huge quantity of Dicyclomine Fortaspas Tramadol HCL Tablets has been recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Sopore where he remains in custody.
In this regard, a case FIR No 213/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
