Four Wanted Drug Smugglers Booked Under PIT NDPS Act: Police

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday booked four most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said, “Four most wanted and notorious drug smugglers namely Sajad Khan of Mohura, Manzoor Yatoo @Munna of Heewan, Bilal Rather of Bandipayeen & Aqib Dar @Babar of Khambiyar have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.”

Many cases are registered against the drug smugglers as they were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Mohura Heewan, Bandipayeen Chandoosa, Khambiyar Pattan & other areas of District Baramullait added.

The statement reads, “Despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth, police said.”
