Fourth day of shutdown in Bandipora against arrests

KL Report

There is no respite for Bandipora business community as the town observed shutdown for the fourth consecutive day Monday against the detention of youth.

Shops, business establishments, schools and banks are closed while traffic is off the roads.

The local Traders who are spearheading the agitation against arrests alleged that police authorities are deliberately trying to derail peace as they are even defying civil administration orders.

Pertinently, a number of youth were arrested for their alleged involvement in protests before and after the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

The Traders are demanding unconditional release of the youths while police have registered cases against few of them under various sections.
