SRINAGAR: An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 struck Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The tremor occurred at a depth of 140 kilometres, the agency said.In a post on X, the NCS stated: “EQ of M: 4.6, On: 15/04/2026 09:30:03 IST, Lat: 36.545 N, Long: 71.409 E, Depth: 140 Km, Location: Afghanistan.”
No immediate reports of casualties or damage were available. The tremor occurred at a depth of 140 kilometres, the agency said.
Earlier, on April 12, another earthquake of magnitude 4.6 had hit Afghanistan at a depth of 150 kilometres.
