SRINAGAR: Fresh snowfall was reported at Zojila Pass and Minamarg on Thursday as light precipitation affected the higher-altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir along the Srinagar–Kargil–Leh National Highway.
The upper reaches of the Gumri mountains and Drass also received snowfall, while light snow showers were reported over the higher elevations of Gulmarg and the Pir Panjal range.
Motorists using the Sonamarg–Zojila–Minamarg route have been advised to follow traffic control room updates, carry anti-skid snow chains and maintain safe speeds in view of the prevailing weather conditions.
The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy weather across Jammu and Kashmir, with light rain or snowfall possible at isolated places over the next 24 hours.
