SRINAGAR: Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district received fresh snowfall on Tuesday evening, prompting authorities to close the 85 km-long Gurez-Bandipora road as a precautionary measure.
An official said that snow accumulation along the route had made travel unsafe. The snowfall has affected several areas, including Kanzalwan, Niru, Dawar, and the Tulail Valley, with continuous snowfall reported across the region.
Authorities have advised drivers and travelers to avoid unnecessary travel on the Gurez-Bandipora road. The district administration is actively monitoring weather conditions and road safety measures.
