Srinagar: The sight of Thursday morning was surprising as fresh snowfall was recorded across valley including Srinagar city. The temperature has dropped with continuous rain and snow lashing valley from last many days.
The reports reaching Kashmir Life news room is that “people in Srinagar were surprised to see snow in the morning.” The thick layer of snow was seen in Srinagar while the upper reaches have received more than that. A thick layer of clouds continues to wrap the sky with intermittent thundering and lightening.

The only connecting link between Kashmir and rest of world, Srinagar-Jammu highway continues to be closed for traffic.
Meanwhile district administration Ganderbal has issued avalanche warning and advised people living in the areas of Sub-Division Kangan and Tehsil Lar, particularly those residing in and around Gund, Sonamarg, Watlar, Waliwar, Chanthan, Gulabpora and Chountiwaliwar areas not to venture into slopes of avalanche-prone forest and hilly areas.
The locals have been asked to temporarily vacate those locations which are under fall line of avalanches.
