SRINAGAR

The fresh snowfall Wednesday put life out of gear in the valley. Snow fall that started last night has not stopped since then.

Kashmir Life received scores of calls from many parts of Kashmir complaining of complete shutdown of electricity and essential things.

In Srinagar, business establishments, shops and offices are shut as people preferred to stay indoors.

While snow has clamped down essential services, official sources said until snow stops no restoration of services will take place.

The Srinagar-Jammu highway has been closed for traffic.

However, Snow clearing machines were seen plying on major roads in Srinagar early in the morning.

Meanwhile, Kashmir University has postponed all examinations scheduled to be held on January 22 and 23 till further announcement.
