Following the fresh snowfall, the normal life in Kashmir valley has come to a halt, prompting the authorities to cancel all the flights from Srinagar airport and suspended the one-way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

Besides, the Kashmir highway many roads leading to hilly areas from north Kashmir’s Kupwara were also closed.

The snowfall in Kashmir started on Friday afternoon, soon after the congregational prayers. The flights were cancelled due to dense fog and bad weather. However, the officials from the airport said that the service will resume only after the weather will improve.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued an advisory following the fresh snowfall. “It is snowing in the plains of #valley. Roads have become slippery. Drive your vehicles carefully & slowly. If you need any help or assistance contact your nearest #Police Station or PCR #Kashmir on 01942506504. @JmuKmrPolice,” Police wrote on the official twitter handle.
