The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme for spring 2024 seeks to empower young entrepreneurs by fostering equal opportunities in emerging markets. This global leadership initiative in Berlin assembles exceptional young entrepreneurs with a shared goal of attaining entrepreneurial excellence. The duration of the fellowship programme is about six months.
The benefits of the programme involve; engaging in a comprehensive programme, participants will commence their journey with a two-day digital Kick-off conference in the initial week of September. Over the duration of six months, they will receive extensive support, encompassing a personal mentor, alumni, monthly peer mentoring sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities. The programme facilitates valuable connections with investors and corporates. Notably, the top ten participants will be granted the opportunity to attend a fully-funded international conference in Germany for five days. This event will provide a platform for participants to pitch to investors, forge connections, and gain insights into Germany’s dynamic start-up landscape.
The eligibility criteria for the fellowship include; applicants should have initiated a for-profit company within the last five years, with a primary focus on developing or emerging markets. The company must demonstrate a successful business model, characterized by either generating substantial revenue or securing its initial round of external funding. Emphasizing impact, the business should contribute to enhancing market quality. Proficiency in English is a must for participants. Additionally, selected individuals must be available for conferences and events throughout the six-month duration of the fellowship.
