Fully Funded Scholarship in South Korea: Apply Now

   

SRINAGAR: The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) offers the KAIST International Student Scholarship for both Master’s and PhD programmes in South Korea. KAIST is a leading university in Asia, often referred to as the MIT of Asia. Established by the Korean government in 1971, it was the nation’s first research-oriented institution for science and engineering.

The KAIST University Scholarship provides recipients with a full scholarship covering all expenses, full coverage of tuition fees, a monthly allowance of 350,000 KRW for Master’s students, and a monthly allowance of 400,000 KRW for Doctoral students. It also provides medical health insurance, supported by the recipient’s advisor or department.

The programme duration is two years for a Master’s degree and three years for a PhD. The deadlines for Spring admission are late August to mid-September, for Autumn admission (Early Track), early December to late December, and for Autumn admission (Regular Track), early March to late March.

Courses offered include all streams of the College of Natural Sciences, College of Life Science & Bioengineering, College of Engineering, and College of Business.

Applicants holding Korean citizenship (including dual citizenship) are NOT eligible to apply as international students. For a Master’s scholarship, applicants must hold or expect to hold a Bachelor’s degree before enrolment at KAIST. For a Doctoral scholarship, applicants must hold or expect to hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree before enrolment at KAIST.

The documents required include a High School Profile, University Transcript, English Proficiency Test Report, Standardised Official Test Score Report, Passport or National ID Copy, Statement of Financial Resources, Honours and Awards (Optional), and one recommendation letter.

Candidates willing to apply must pay the application fee of USD 80 or KRW 80,000. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer after completing the online application form. Additional charges (i.e. bank charges) should be covered by the applicants. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable and you cannot modify the application form once you pay the fee.
