SRINAGAR: The Helmhotz Zentrum Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR) Institute in Germany is offering Summer Student Programme for the year 2024. The application process is completely online through the website and the deadline to apply is February 23, 2024.

The HZDR Summer Student Programme presents an extraordinary chance for students engaged in the field of physical sciences, life sciences, or any other closely related natural sciences. This brief opportunity for gaining experimental and theoretical work experience in Germany is centred on fundamental or implementation-driven research, as well as technology development.

The duration of the HZDR Summer Programme in Germany is six to nine weeks. The benefits of the programme include a daily stipend of 36 Euros (INR 3,260.09) for expenses during the participation. Accommodation is included for the entirety of the stay. Travel tickets and travel insurance expenses are covered. Scheduled meetings with supervisors are arranged to facilitate mentorship and guidance. Furthermore, candidates will receive a valuable feedback on the progress and areas for improvement in overall performance.

The eligibility criteria for the programme involves that applicants should be enrolled in a Master’s or diploma programme in physical sciences, life sciences, or a related natural sciences field. A Bachelor’s degree is a must, and for those pursuing a diploma, completion of the third year of studies is required before the summer session. A strong academic record is essential, along with a valid enrolment status from the university. Proficiency in the English language is necessary. Selected participants are expected to commit to the programme from July 29, 2024, to August 30, 2024. The required documents for the application process include a CV in English, Copy of Academic Records, Copy of Student ID and a Letter of Recommendation.
