SRINAGAR: A doctor from Pir Panchal region is reported to have contracted covid19 for the third time since the nasty virus arrived in Jammu and Kashmir. This is despite the vaccination. He, however, is stable.

Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri is operating from the district hospital till its own infrastructure gets ready.

Reports appearing in media identified the senior doctor as Dr Javed Chowdhary, who has been working as Nodal Officer for Covid19 management in the newly set-up Government Medical College Rajouri since March 2020. He tested positive for Covid19 for the third time on Tuesday.

Dr Chowdhary first tested positive in early 2020. He recovered from the disease. Later early 2021, he was infected a second time and, again, recovered. Now he was detected positive for the third time on Tuesday. He is Deputy Medical Superintendent of the district hospital, Rajouri, as well.

Interestingly, Dr Chowdhary is fully vaccinated; He had taken both the shots of Covishield, the second one only 34 days back. Reports said Dr Chowdhary is stable.

More than ten thousand people in the Rajouri district alone were infected by the Covid19 so far. So far, 215 persons have died and less than 400 are on their way to recovery. Rajouri is the second district in the Jammu region after the Jammu city as far as toll is concerned.
