Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said the state government has proposed additional funding under Prime Ministers Development Package (PMDP) to speed up completion of additional block of Sub-district hospital Sopore. “However the approval is yet to be received from GoI,” he informed the house.
The Minister was replying to a question by MLA Haji Abdul Rashid.
Giving details about the physical progress of SDH Sopore, the Minister said OPD building and IPD block (Ist Phase) has been completed and made functional. “IPD 2nd phase has been completed upto roof level and construction work is going on. BMO’s quarter is complete, while quarters for paramedic staff have been constructed up to 2nd storey,” he said. He also said that the work on operation theatre block/kitchen block roofing is also complete, while slab has been laid on upto 2nd floor of nursing hostel.
Bhagat also said that project is likely to be completed during the current financial year, subject to release of balance amount in full by the central govt.
