Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ali Muhammad Sagar has said that the government has taken immediate steps for relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people of the State. He said funds for interim relief have already been kept under the disposal of concerned Deputy Commissioners for onwards disbursement to the flood affected families.

According to a statement issued to KNS the Rural Development Minister Sunday visited several flood affected areas of Budgam district including Sozieth, Goripora, Narbal and Gagarpora. He took stock of relief and rehabilitation measures besides loss of property and crops.

During the tour a team of officers of district administration Budgam was accompanied the Minister.

Sagar directed the officers to redouble their efforts and work with devotion for providing immediate succor and relief to the affected families well in time. He also instructed for immediate assessment of losses so that necessary financial assistance would be given to the flood victims.

Interacting with the people the Minister assured them that all possible assistance from the Government would be provided to the affected families. He said in this regard, the Government has already sanctioned 6 months free ration in favour of such families
