One-man Commission probing the Gagren Shopian killing of youth at the hands of CRPF personnel Monday said that in view of the sensitiveness of the case, it will take up the matter with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in case the Director CFSL Chandigarh fails to provide expert opinion regarding four mobile phones sent to the laboratory under FIR number 134/2013 through police station Shopian till May 15.

The one-man Commission of Inquiry headed by retired justice ML Koul said that the Commission has shot a letter vide number COI/52014 to the Director CFSL Chandigarh and has asked him to expedite the expert opinion regarding mobile phone and other FSL report so that it reaches to the office of the Superintendent of Police Shopian till May 15 this month. “We have categorically mentioned in our letter that the Commission would take up the issue with the Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India if the expert opinion is not provided in time,” he said.

He further said that due to non-availability of the expert opinion, the Commission is unable to conclude the inquiry. “We will conclude the inquiry once expert opinion is received. We have also directed Investigating Officer, SP Shopian to personally see that the PSA record and the FIR copies of the slain people who were allegedly connected with militancy be produced on the next date of hearing which has been fixed on May 6 (Tuesday),” Koul said.
