Police arrested three gamblers in Kulgam and seized staked money from them. In another incident police recovered 2800 bottles of liquor from a person in Qazigund and arrested him.
Giving details police sources said that on January 5, police arrested Javed Ahmad Itoo a resident of Chawalgam, Mubarak Ahmad Rather resident of Chancer and Nisar Ahmad Ganei resident of Damhal in the south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
They said that stake money Rs 9600 and playing cards were also seized from the arrestees.
FIR 05/2015 in police station Kulgam u/s 13 Gambling Act has been registered against the accused.
In another case in Qazigund area, police arrested Ghulam Rasool Bhat @Chack son of Mohammad Subhan Bhat resident of YK Pora and recovered 2800 bottles of liquor from his possession.
Police said that the accused was loading the liquor bottles in his personnel vehicle when a police party raided and arrested him.
FIR 03/2015 in police station Qazigund, u/s 50 Excise Act has been registered and investigation started.
