Four gamblers and a female thief were held by police in Srinagar.
“A female thief and recovered stolen mobiles and cash from her,” a police statement said Thursday afternoon.
A police party of Police Station Nowhatta on specific information arrested a female thief near Makhdoom Sahib, identified as Dilshada wife of Nazir Dar resident of Dangarpora, Chadoora. Police recovered 04 stolen mobiles, 05 wallets with cash amounting to Rs 3370 from her. A case FIR number 108 under section 379 RPC has been registered against her and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, police arrested four gamblers and recovered stake money Rs 8900 from the gambling spot.
On a tip off, a police party of Police Station Khanyar under the command of SDPO Khanyar Mir Ejaz raided a gambling place at Cholmohalla and arrested 04 gamblers identified as Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Ishaaq Bhat son of Muhammad Ismail, Ghulam Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool and Ajaz Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Qadir residents of Lone Mohalla, Nowpora. Stake money of Rs 8900 has been recovered from the gambling spot. Khanyar police has registered a case in this regard.
