Gambles Held in Baramulla, Over Rs One Lakh Recovered

Police arrested two gamblers and recovered stake money over Rs one lakh from the gambling spot, police said Friday evening.

On a tip off, a police party of Police Station Kunzer raided a gambling place near Lalpora Kunzer and arrested 02 gamblers identified as Jahangir Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Rehman and Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad residents of Archandarhama while gambling.

Police recovered the stake money of Rs 1,00,500/= from the spot. However, two more gamblers Mehraj-u-Din Malik resident of Singhpora and Manzoor Ahmad Rather resident of Lalpora managed to escape.

Police after registering a case launched the man hunt to nab other two gamblers.

Meanwhile, the police said that fire broke out in a residential house of Abdul Rehman Wagay son of Mohammad Sabir resident of Chewa Nagmul, Bandipora, resulting in partial damage to the house.

In another incident, fire broke out in an electronic/mobile shop belonging to Aijaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Ompora at Ompora Budgam, resulting in partial damage to the shop.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported in these fire incidents.
