SSP Poswal said, “A family from Sumbal-Bala, Kangan—relatives of Bilal Ahmad Sangu—came to Kangan Police Station yesterday after noticing a name and photographs circulating on social media. They told us their son had travelled to Delhi and had been working there since 2019.”

He said police quickly established contact with Delhi Police to verify the details. “We coordinated with Delhi Police, and they confirmed that a body matching the description is present there,” he said.

The SSP added that the family has been advised on the required legal and procedural steps. “We have given them the contact of Kotwali Police Station in Delhi. As the case is being handled by the NIA, we have guided them accordingly. Any assistance needed from our side will be fully provided,” he said.

He further noted that once the identity is conclusively established and formalities are completed, Ganderbal Police will ensure the body is brought back to the family.
