Residents of Gaw Kadal and Mandir Bagh staged massive protests against PDD for continued power outage and blocked the Gaw Kadal Bridge.
The protesters assembled around a burning pyre and shouted slogans against PDD and the government. Due to the closure of road, the commuters had to take an alternate route.
“For the last 24 hours we are without electricity,” said one protester. “We are in the midst of winters and we are suffering due to bone-chilling cold.”
The protesters alleged that PDD has initiated massive curtailments in the area and since yesterday their electricity supply was snapped leaving them in the lurch.
