Castigating so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria”, Islamist leader and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, Tuesday said that those call for fighting under “ISIS” are actually murderers who are spilling innocent blood.

Addressing a seminar at Hurriyat Conference (g) headquarters to mark 05 January 1949 UN Resolutions on Kashmir, Geelani said, “I am saddened to know that our youth unfurl and raise ISIS flags on some occasions. ISIS is a group of murderers and killers who are killing innocent people and our people should know it.”

Impressing upon people to make themselves aware about this group, he identified ISIS with “Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)”.

Asking those who unfurl ISIS flags not create panic in Muslim society, Geelani said, “they are same like TTP who were killing innocents in Pakistan and destabilizing the Islamic nation.”

He said that no one can justify the attack on Pakistan’s army public school on December 14 in 2014. “It is nothing but only those who don’t know Islam can do it.”

Calling for safeguarding minorities, Geelani asked Pakistan to ensure peace in Karachi and Balochistan. “It is my message to Pakistan to ensure that all its minorities are given full proof security,” he said saying it is tragic that over 400 dead bodies were recovered in Balochistan in 2015.

“We are not against your parleys with India; we want good future for 121 crore Indians but Pakistan must know that the stability of this Islamic nation is a big relief for whole Muslim world,” he said.

Commenting on the developments post execution of prominent Shia leader, Sheikh Al Nimr, in Saudi Arabia a few days ago, Geelani said, “We should not let occupier exploit us, our religious affinity.” He called for maintaining calm and harmony.
