Hurriyat Conference (g) has called an executive meeting of its constituent members on January 22.
A statement of the party issued on Wednesday said, “After a long spell of six months all constituent members will discuss prevailing situation in state.”
Octogenarian leader and chairperson of the party Syed Ali Geelani will preside the meeting and its general secretary Shabir Ahmad Shah and all other members are expected to attend the meeting.
A Hurriyat spokesperson said that police administration has restricted all social and political activities of Syed Ali Geelani and virtually turned his residence into a jail.
“Syed Ali Geelani is not in a position to venture out of his residence and as such has called executive meeting at Hyderpora.”
Spokesman said that that Hurriyat general secretary Shabir Ahmad Shah, last week convened the executive meeting at his Sanat Nagar residence; however some important issues are to be discussed in presence of its chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani.
“We have informed all executive members and served notices and they have been asked to comply and directed to attend said meeting positively.”
