Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani while strongly castigating administration for unleashing a fresh arrest spree Tuesday demanded the immediate release of the youth arrested in the Gool Ramban incident aftermath.

“It is so sad that Indian forces while challenging honour and faith of Muslims desecrated Holy Qur’an and instead of all this we are not being allowed to mourn over the tragedy,” Geelani in a statement issued to GNS said.

While stressing for immediate release of these youth, Geelani said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is nothing more than a show boy. “The state executive is in control of Army and Police.”

“It is arrogance of power that they have created a forced silence and deprived citizens from their basic fundamental right,” Geelani said.

Geelani in his appeal to Amnesty International and other Human Rights organizations urged them to take serious notice of situation in Jammu and Kashmir and use their influence to protect human lives.

Meanwhile, Tehreek e Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir in a statement issued to GNS said it would organize a “Revelation of Qur’an Conference” on July 28 at its party headquarters Hyderpora.

“The seminar will commence from 10:30 am in morning till 2 pm in which noted religious scholars would deliver the lecture over important topics viz. Quran and Peace in the World, Quran – the Complete Code of Life, Quran and Contemporary Issues, Human Security and Holy Quran and Guidelines in Quran and our culture,” Tehreek Hurriyat in a statement added.
