Hurriyat Conference (G)convened a meeting of its Executive Body (Majlish Shoora) to assess situation after last year peoples uprising and was presided over by its chairman Syed Ali Geelani.
The meeting held at Hyderpora was after a long time that Syed Ali Geelani presided executive body of amalgam.
The representatives of all its constituents attended the meeting, however General Secretary, Shabir Ahmad Shah couldn’t attend as he continues to be under house arrest.
The participants according to spokesman thoroughly discussed and deliberated upon last year people’s uprising, recent developments related with the movement of Kashmir and discussed future strategy.
The meeting, spokesman said reviewed the concept of future strategy, work plans & reinforcement into amalgam.
Geelani in his address said that uprising in year 2016 carried and conveyed a strong and powerful message to India.
While hailing people for their commitment ,Geelani said that they “conveyed that India and its stooges with their military might can’t break their resolve and can’t cow down spirits of youth ,striving for freedom right.”
Geelani while referring to Indian leaders and their approach , said that “they are not heeding the screams, nor they are perceiving the woes and agonies people are facing in state, however their indifferent and apathetic approach won’t change reality nor people will deter from pursuing their right.”
The tactics adopted by Indian rulers will never mislead international community. Sooner or later India shall have to respect the aspirations of people and while referring to geopolitical changes,” he added.
He further said that the changes are eminent and history stands testimony to the fact that once two great empires like USSR and Great Britain are no more on map and are confined to annals of history only.
While referring to “stubborn and egoistic approach of Indian rulers,” Geelani said “it is temporary phase & this country won’t suppress & trample our basic rights till long and I am sure that we will accomplish our destination and goal.”
He said that “I hope that weaker sections within India will rise against its hegemony and they too will celebrate victory.”
While hailing high spirits and passion exhibited by people, Geelani warned people against the deceit being played by local stooges of India & said that we need to sustain our persistence and exhibit same sentiments in future too, as we have rendered enormous & valuable sacrifices. “We need to safeguard these sacrifices,” said Geelani and even a slight blunder or mistake can prolong our struggle.
He according to spokesman passed directions to all executive members that they should boost people to people contact and aware them about the gimmicks and folly’s being played by Delhi groomed henchmen.
During meeting, it was observed that administration is playing a foul and their claims about the detainees are either misleading or are deliberately concealing the facts. “On one hand the people at the helm of affaires are claiming that those bailed out by court won’t be re-arrested and contrary to this they are re-arrested and lodged in detention centers. More and more people and resistance activists are slapped with PSA and lodged in jails, observed executive council.”
Executive council in its appeal to international bodies for human rights impressed to take cognizance of pitiable plight of detainees and use its influence for their release.
