Reiterating his appeal for boycott for upcoming elections and while paying glorious tributes to slain militants of Changam Frisal in Kulgam, Hurriyat Conference (G chairman Syed Ali Geelani Saturday said youth are presenting their precious sacrifices to safeguard ‘our future.’

In a statement to KNS terming these youths as valiant sons of Kashmir, he said, “Martyrs are fighting against the occupation and pursuing for material gains like employment and other possessions are irrelevant for them. India surpassed all moral, democratic and constitutional obligations and occupied Kashmir.”

Referring to freedom movement Geelani said, “Instead of arrogance, colonial and other repressive approach of authorities, the people of Kashmir challenged occupation and during all these periods adopted peaceful means but India with its power of arrogance moved down all our pleas and resorted to barbaric tactics to crush just a peaceful movement.”

“Since last 67 years and particularly since 1988 they killed our two lakh people and thus turned valley into a place of execution,” he alleged.

While referring to draconian laws like AFSPA, Geelani said, “With the active help of local stooges, Delhi has turned valley into a gloomy place and local pro-Indian leadership has always served India for their mean interests and contested elections for so called development and played a key role for India to strengthen its occupation and base.”

The Hurriyat (G) chairman recounted how these people “resorted to massacres, torture and killings in brutal manner when people resented the occupation.”  He also expressed his deep grief over the killing in Handwara and Kulgam and said, “We were still mourning the Chattergam killings and Indian forces in a coldblooded way mowed down an innocent girl at Handwara and blasted and raised down five residential houses. Their claim for being a big democracy is mockery.”
