Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone Thursday said that not a single person approached the civil administration with regard to alleged harassment they are facing “at the hands of a particular police officer”.

He was reacting to the allegations leveled by Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani who Thursday issued a statement to media that a particular police officer after arresting ‘innocent’ youth on the charges of stone-pelting seeks mobile numbers of females from them and later on allegedly call them during late hours and harass and annoy them.

Syed Ali Geelani quoted people of Baramulla as saying that civil administration did not take any action against that police officer despite bring the matter into their notice.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone told CNS that nobody approached him or any other administrative official with such complaint. “If people have any complaint, let them come to me and I assure them that I will take cognizance,” he said.
