Veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad who filed his nomination from Udhampur-Doda on Tuesday has declared immovable and moveable assets that his family owns. These are worth Rs 4.14 crore as per the self estimation.

Azad’s affidavit suggests he filed returns for Rs 821110, his wife singer Shameema Azad filed returns of Rs 723300 and their daughter Sofiya has filed Income Tax returns for Rs 601880 in the last financial year.

Details suggest that the family owns immovable assets of worth Rs 22389790. It includes Rs 5792733 worth immovable assets of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Rs 14991472 of assets that belong to his wife Shameema and Rs 1605385 worth of immovable assets that their daughter owns.

Under the immovable category, the family has put the costs of their overall assets at Rs 19035000. It includes properties worth Rs 70 lakh that Azad personally owns as his wife owns properties worth Rs 12035000.

The family owns 2.5 acres of land in Whashim Maharashtra – constituency that Azad represented twice in the Lok Sabha, a flat in Friends Colony in Delhi, and a residential house in Hyderpora Srinagar. Azad has no liability at all.
