A girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District, Police said.
An 18 years old girl (name withheld), a resident of Khansahib consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. After medico-legal formalities police handed over the body of deceased to her relatives for last rites.
Budgam police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
Meanwhile, Kulgam police has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of poppy straw from them.
Following a tip off, a police party of police post Frisal during Naka checking, intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK03C-8799 at Frisal, Yaripora. On checking of the vehicle police recovered 37 kilograms of Poppy Straw. Two people who were travelling in the car were taken into custody. They were identified as Ghulam Mohammad Dass so of Mohammad Rafeeq and Ghulam Nabi Dass son of Mohammad Ahsan both resident of Waghama, Islamabad.
Kulgam police has registered a case FIR number 132/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up.
