SRINAGAR: A girl died while five others were injured in two separate road accidents in Handwara and Sopore, a spokesman of the state police said.

In Handwara, a Tractor (JK09A/6572) hit and injured a girl namely Iqra Bano daughter of Abdul Ahad Ganie resident of Nowgam Handwara at Putwari in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Handwara were she succumbed to her injuries. After completion of all legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her next of kin for last rites. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard.

In Sopore, an Alto K-10 car (JK05F/5327) and a Scooty (JK05E/0114) collided at Tragpora Rafiabad, resulting in injuries to five persons namely Basit Ahmad Malik, Zubair Ahmad Mir,  Muzaffar Ahmad Lone, residents of  Achabal Sopore, Irfan Ahmad Bhat and Javid Iqbal residents of Rohama Sopore. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment where from Basit Ahmad Malik and Muzaffar Ahmad Lone were shifted to Srinagar Hospital for further treatment. Sopore police has registered a case in this regard.
