A teenage girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a youth in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources told GNS on Monday.
They said, a girl hailing from Kotan area of Mendhar area was allegedly kidnapped outside her residence by a youth and taken her to the unknown destination on Friday last.
The family members of the girl filed a missing report in the nearby police station on Saturday morning when the girl did not returned home on the other day who according to them had gone to their relatives.
Soon after the complaint filed, police launched massive searches and finally arrested the accused at GB post near Line of Control (LoC) in the district.
A police officer while confirming the incident identified the arrested youth as Naveed Mustafa son of Mohammad Rashid of Ari Mendhar.
After conducting all medical formalities, police handed over the girl to her parents, he said.
“A case under FIR No. 19/2015 under section 366/376, 342 RPC in this regard has been registered in this regard and further investigation is going on”, he said.
