Rejecting the Police version that accused two brothers of desecrating the Holy Qur’an, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday termed it a “worst type of state terrorism”. He also called for state-wide protest demonstrations after Friday prayers on October 25 and reiterated his demanded for the arrest of BSF personnel involved in civilian killing in Gool incident.
“The Police statement alleging two brothers in desecration of Holy Qur’an is a brazen lie,” Geelani in a statement issued to GNS on Wednesday said, adding that Muslims cannot even imagine of indulging in such matters.
Geelani said we are well aware about the inquiry teams which are nothing but a move to calm public ire. Demanding immediate release of the accused Qari Shabir Hussain and his brother Abdul Lateef and action against the BSF personnel involved in killing, the Hurriyat Chairman said that keeping all these circumstance in mind ,the people of Kashmir are left with only two options – “either to give off the struggle or strive for freedom till last.”
Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal to people also called for valley-wide protest demonstrations after Friday prayers.
