Reacting to a statement of Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Prasad wherein he had hinted at possibility of a severe crack down on ‘separatists issuing protest calendars’, Mutahida Majlise Mashawrat (MMM) Thursday said that government of India will have to return the mortal remains of Mohammad Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat ‘as it is the demand of all Kashmiris’. It has said that Guru and Bhat had sacrificed their lives for the nation and are the heroes of the Kashmiri nation.

According to statement issued to KNS, MMM has said that return mortal remains of  both Guru and Bhat was the demand of every Kashmiri, ‘and Indian authorities will have to bow before this demand”.

The Majlis reiterated its protest calendar for holding special prayers on Friday and to hold protests after Friday prayers led by concerned Imams. Male students have been asked to hold protest demonstration on Saturday in schools, colleges and universities.

It has asked people to offer special prayers on Friday to seek the help of Almighty Allah.
