Nature has its own way of intervention. Within 24 hours after Abdul Latif was killed in Gool firing by BSF, his second daughter was born. His wife gave birth to a little daughter at 4 pm, Friday, within five hours after people returned home from the graveyard after laying him to rest.

Latif was married since 2002. He already had two sons and a daughter.

“It sounds strange that while people are coming to offer their condolences to our home, we are unable to tell them that the slain is father, yet again,” Iqbal Ahmad, one of Latif’s close relatives said. “People are coming like water and we are confused what to say.”

Iqbal said while it will take time to name the new member of the family, they are facing a crisis in consoling slain’s three orphans. “His son Zahid Ali is a student of fifth primary as Mazahir studies in first primary and the little daughter has barely given up crawling,” Iqbal said. “It is very painful to have a daughter who is born orphan.”

Latif, a resident of Jamnan in Dhadam, was a farmer. His father was already dead and he was living with his wife Pari Begum and his old mother and a sister, who had not married by choice. One of the two brothers of Latif lives separately. “He was the main earning hand in the family,” Iqbal said. “We are yet come out of the shock to understand how the family will move ahead.”
