KL Report

SRINAGAR

Most of the injured in the Gool firing were shifted to a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Sangaldan because it was much closer than Gool. But it lacked adequate casualty management.

“We have just one dead body with us as most of the injured were treated at Sangaldan,” an official of the Gool hospital said. Sangaldan was closer to the spot of the crisis.

Dr Anil Raina, who heads the Sangaldan PHC said he may not be able to offer many details because he is on way to have post-mortem of the dead bodies. “I do not know how many bodies are there but it is either six or seven,” Dr Raina said.

“We referred 42 injured to Ramban and 15 to 20 had bullets,” Dr Raina said. “Not more than six people were managed locally.” He said the entire belt is tense and there are reports that some VVIPs have landed here.
