Government Approves 351 Welfare Cases For Fire Services Personnel

   

SRINAGAR: In a recent development, the government has approved 351 welfare cases of fire services personnel, while eight were rejected.

As per News Agency KS, the Central Welfare Committee of Fire & Emergency Services convened a meeting on August 23, 2023. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Alok Kumar-IPS (ADGP), Director of Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, took place in his office chambers at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed 359 welfare cases of Fire Services personnel seeking welfare relief or loans. After careful consideration and scrutiny, the Committee approved 351 cases but rejected eight due to incomplete supporting documents.

The approved cases encompass a wide range of welfare relief, including medical treatment, financial assistance for marriages of wards and siblings, support for wards pursuing professional courses both within and outside the Union Territory, scholarships for meritorious wards, funds for construction and repairs of houses, and relief for personnel injured during firefighting operations.

An amount totaling Rs 83 lakhs was sanctioned as welfare loans and relief for these cases.

The Central Welfare Committee’s meeting marked its first session in three years. Apart from approving relief and welfare loans, the meeting also addressed various issues related to the welfare of our dedicated firefighters. (KS)
